Destiny review

Gabriella is a witch. The problem is, she doesn't remember. She repressed the memories of her powers years ago when her mother was murdered. Now, the warlock who was responsible for her mother's death has set his sights on Gabriella. He is determined to use her fear to turn her to the dark side of magick…even if it kills her. Her mother's spirit is reaching out to warn her, but even that she pushes away. Desperate to save her daughter, the spirit finds a male witch–one that just happens to be in love with Gabriella. Darron is more than willing to help but the two young witches will have way more to battle than just an evil warlock. There are overbearing jocks and petty rich girls who get tempers flaring and often set Gabrielle and Darron at odds.

There is more to the story than Gabrielle and Darron could even imagine. There are terrible secrets to be revealed, battles to be waged, and lives will be lost. Only after Gabrielle and Darron both come to terms with who they really are, and open themselves up to the true meaning of magick, can they have any hope of fulfilling their destiny.

Our thoughts:

Jealousy, murder, love and magick made Destiny a really good read.
I seriously got into this book. Out of the few books I've read that contained witchcraft, I haven't had the pleasure of reading one with Wicca in it. Having known people who study Wicca and reading about it made this story so much more enjoyable for me. Laura took such care with detail with the spells she used and she set the scenes up to allow the reader to experience the powers at work (so to speak). My only complaint is that I have no idea if there is a sequel out or one in the works. I am fast becoming a huge fan of Ms DeLuca.  5 stars

Gabby's life changed forever when her mom was murdered. In her mourning, she locked away critical pieces of her upbringing deep within her. Now her life depends on how quickly she can retrieve those memories.
Darron has loved Gabby since he laid eyes on her. The problem is he is a witch, and is scared what his powers my do to her. Can he protect her from the evil chasing her without costing her her life in the meantime.....
This is such a layered story. It's a love story. No its a Wicca/new age story. No its a mystery. Well it is all of the above. It draws you in and keeps you jumping until the.last sentence. The characters feel like friends by the end of the book. The plot is well developed and fast paced. It is tricky at times too. There is simple clues dropped in the text that you have to be careful not to miss. I know by the way this one ends that there is at least one more book and I am so glad. I just wasn't finished with these teen's story at this point.
I am quickly falling in love with books by this author. It seems all of her work is flawless and beautifully written. A definite recommended read for ages 14+ solely due to subject matter and situations. An excellent novel, and one I will revisit again!!!! Happy reading!!!! 5 stars

I absolutely loved this wonderful story. The cover of this book was absolutely beautiful and the white rose was deplicted in the story. It was well developed and fast paced. Laura took her time in creating each and everyone of her characters. The characters of Gabriella, Darron, Flora, Shelly and Monte were so intense that you were able to feel their emotions and couldn't help but love them. Gabriella is still living with the ghost and tragedy of the death of her mother. Although it happened years ago the killers were never caught and she never knew why she was killed then she had to live daily with a drunk father. Darron was a adopted child who was afraid to follow his hearts desire which was

Gabriella because he was hiding a secret about himself and he felt that it wasn't fair to involve her. Monte was hiding his own secrets. Darron is brought into a situation from the spirit world and it brings the whole gang in to save the friends. Gabriella learns a lot of who she is and about her mother and her death. Through this Darron also finds out a startlingly fact that is brought to light that could bring his world to a crashing halt. I am definitely looking forward to book 2 Destiny Unveiled in order to carry on with this journey with these wonderful characters. Thank you so much for this fast paced and entertaining story. 5 stars
