Beckoning Light (The Afterglow Trilogy, #1)
YA Fantasy Romance
As Charlotte steps through the gate, she has a strong feeling that nothing will ever be the same again.

Moving back to South Carolina after three years away, Charlotte knows she’s going to have to face people from her past and adjust to a new high school, but she’s completely unprepared for what else waits for her in Charleston.
Drawn through an old garden gate, Charlotte discovers a hidden world where she meets Calvin, a boy to whom she is inexplicably attracted. As Charlotte is pulled deeper into this hidden world, it’s up to her older brother Kevin to rescue her. The problem is that no matter how hard Kevin tries, the rescue depends upon Charlotte fighting her intense feelings for Calvin while mastering a set of abilities that she has only just discovered she possesses.

Amazon/B&N

Our thoughts:

This is definitely a different type of story but WELL worth the read. It is in 2 different POV from Charlotte’s and then Kevin’s. They are brother and sister who are about to embark on a journey in a world neither one knew existed.
I must say that I think Liam is my favorite character. He is Kevin’s best friend and Charlotte used to have a crush on him before they left to Alaska. He could possibly have a thing for her too, I haven’t quite figured that one out. I don’t know if it’s a brotherly type of affection or a hey! I need to be with you kind.
Oh! Get this. Charlotte ends up meeting a guy in a different realm. Yes, you read correctly. She is under the impression that it’s love at first sight. Young uns, I am telling you. LOL
BUT, and yes I started a sentence with the all time no no. BUT I must tell you this. This story will take you on an unexpected adventure. Much different from many others you have read I am sure. And hey it’s only .99 how could you go wrong? I can't wait to read the next one! I am glad this book is in my Kindle Library. Most of you will be too!!! 4 stars

Flight (The Crescent Chronicles, #1)
Mature YA/New Adult Paranormal Romance

Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

Our thoughts:

Flight started out as a typical end of high school story. Best friends. Just graduated,. No school. ROAD TRIP!!! To work at Allie’s dad’s hotel in New Orleans. Right dab smack in the hustle and bustle.
This is not your normal paranormal story. Well not to me anyway. it was different. A good different. We see Allie and a normal well rich but not hey I am rich attitude girl at her wits end with boys.
Until she meets Levi. Who seems to be unable to take a hint that she isn't interested.
He isn't letting THAT happen ....maybe he can show her a wing or two...... 4 stars

Derailed (Clayton Falls)
New Adult Contemporary Romance

When you're lost, sometimes the only place you can go is home.
Broken over the death of her fiancé, Molly leaves law school to return to her childhood home in North Carolina. Expecting to lay low until she can figure out what else to do with her life, she finds herself in the arms of her high school sweetheart, the boy who represents everything from the past she tried to leave behind.

Looking for an escape, she instead finds a way back to the girl she almost forgot existed and a future she never dreamed possible.

Our thoughts:
The author has no problem captivating her audience from page one to the end.   You are able to place yourself into the characters because many of us have experienced very similar situations in our lives.  There isn't just one or two emotions that we feel during reading this book it is a very heartfelt and emotional rollercoaster.  Many times in this book I actually had to stop because the author was so visual you could feel the characters pain and emotions.  I loved reading this book and cant wait to read more.  Would give 10 stars if I could.

As soon as Molly returns home, sage is embraced by her life lone best friend Kelly. Discovering that Kelly is now engages, Molly tries to be supportive of her friends upcoming nuptials. However returning home has brought back other people and memories from Molly's past...and possible may give her a second chance at life.
I love this story. Each of us have lost a person or persons at a time in our lives. The author paints an amazing look into tue inner turmoil grief causes. Molly is such a deep character, and the reader truly feels her .pain and sense of loss. Learning to overcome grief and learn to .live again is one of the hardest lessons in life. The omit had several twists which fit but I never seen coming. I enjoyed the easy flow and fast pace. Editing was near perfect. I would recommend this book, it leaves you with a definite feel good emotion. I will say this after you complete the novel and take a good look at the cover you see a very deep sense of the author's use of symbolism which I absolutely adore. I would also add I would recommend this for an older audience as it is contemporary new adult. Happy reading!!!! 4 stars
Oh my goodness! Molly is having one hell of a time. Her ex fiance dies. She walks out of class and says basically I don’t want to study law anymore I am DONE!
She decides to move back into her parents old home. Unfortunately being home also brings back memories of the past, like her Dad dying and Ben.
Ben, her high school sweetheart finds out she’s back in town. He stops nothing to have her back. Alas, Molly keeps saying that she wants nothing to do with him. Past feelings catch up to her. Before long they are agreeing to being hot and steamy ummm “casual” friends.
It is a fun read. I really enjoyed it!!
I just wish Ben was a bit different. Then again, after the things he went through.....I just might not be. 3.5 stars
