Unguarded Review

Guardian angel Selene was so close to becoming an archangel—the supreme of all beings—until she fell in love with Cole, a forbidden dark one. Once she discovers her vampire lover has been kidnapped and the only way to save him is by abandoning her number one priority—Caitlyn, her human charge—there really is only one answer in Selene’s mind, even though leaving Caitlyn unguarded will most likely cause Selene to fall from grace. But her choice to save Cole doesn’t come without a price…and now Selene is racing against time to not only save her dark lover, but find a way to keep Caitlyn alive as well. With the help of a new vampire ally, Luke, Selene will push her diminishing angel abilities to the point where her very existence lies in the balance. Now threatened with the chance of becoming a fallen angel or even dying, Selene can only pray she’ll have enough time—and good grace—to save the ones she loves.

Our thoughts:

Selene was sent to eath to be a guardian angel. Her first responsibly is always her charge Caitlyn, who also happens to be her dear friend. Against the archangel's warning she has been spending way too much time in human form bonding th her charge. These moments have also allowed Selene to-do the unthinkable...fall in love with Cole who is a vampire. Angels of light and never supposed to associate with creatures from the darkness...let alone love them. Selene's decisions have now brought on cure consequences. First so all she is losing some of her angel powers. Next both Cole and Caitlyn suffer horrible incidents leaving them mortally wounded. The question is just how far will Selene go to make things right once and for all..... This book was beyond amazing. First of all I loved that it encompassed creatures of both light and darkness. The angels were more humanistic and believable than in any other book I have read. Not just the ordinary angels can do no wrong scenario, but one where angels mimic humans and do have the choice of free will. They experience decisions with consequences and have humanity. The demons are clever and cunning ....some are very likeable while others really do make you despise them. I found Selene to be very endearing, selfless and a joy to share in her story. Almost never in life are the answers easy, and those she faced were far from easy. She was very selfish at times but took responsibility for her actions. Things all of us have done. I was very impressed with this novel and it is a wholehearted must read. I am holing there will be a part two to this because there are a few things she.purposely left the reader hanging over.......On the grammatical front...the novel flowed very well, no grammatical errors I could fine and characters were very well likeable and developed. A book you seriously won't put down. On this one I really don't even have any suggestions about what could be better all I can say here is keep up the awesome work !!!! 5 stars
